Actor Keanu Reeves makes competitive racing debut in Indianapolis

Full story

Actor Keanu Reeves has taken his skills in action into real life and onto the racetrack. On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Hollywood icon made his professional auto racing debut at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

His debut wasn’t all smooth sailing, as Reeves spun out on turn nine and slid into the grass. Luckily there was no collision, and Reeves was able to quickly reenter the race.

He started at 31st out of a total of 35 cars, making a climb up to 21st place and eventually finishing 25th, after avoiding a crash on turn 14.

At 60 years old, Reeves is competing in the Toyota GR Cup. He’s also promoting his graphic novel, “The Book of Elsewhere.”

This isn’t the actor’s first time racing. He previously took part in a celebrity race in 2009, which he won. If that’s not enough excitement for the star, he’s heading to Los Angeles with costar Sandra Bullock for a special 30th anniversary screening of “Speed.”
