Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has banned all communication devices following a deadly attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon. The ban follows a coordinated strike that took place during the week of Sept. 15.
Thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies reportedly used by Hezbollah were detonated in an assault killing at least 39 people and injuring more than 3,000.
In response, the IRGC has launched an extensive inspection of all communication devices, with a focus on mid- to high-ranking members.

Iran is also working with Hezbollah to investigate the remains of the exploded devices, which were mostly homemade or imported from China and Russia. Security measures have been tightened at key Iranian missile and nuclear facilities as a result of the attack.
Tensions between Iran, Israel, and Hezbollah have intensified in recent months, with allegations of shadow warfare and sabotage. Lebanon and Hezbollah have blamed Israel for the attack, though Israel has not confirmed or denied involvement.
