The four Americans who were kidnapped at gunpoint late last week in the border city of Matamoros, Mexico have been found. Two of them were found dead.
According to Mexican officials, the other two were found alive. One of the two was wounded.
On Sunday, the FBI said it was working with authorities in Mexico to find the four kidnapped Americans. They got caught in the crossfire of rival cartel groups just a couple days prior.
Matamoros has been dominated by factions of the Gulf drug cartel, who often fight among themselves. Thousands of Mexicans have disappeared in Tamaulipas state, where Matamoros is located.
U.S. officials have warned against traveling to Tamaulipas.
