Classified Pentagon documents leaked on social media continue to resurface and spill U.S. military secrets. The latest was uncovered by the Washington Post. It describes a threat to the U.S. that the military has been monitoring.
That threat is new spy drone technology from China that would dramatically enhance China’s ability to conduct surveillance operations with new drone intelligence.
One of the leaked classified pages, marked “secret” in red letters, describes what would be China’s first supersonic unmanned aerial vehicle drone. It can travel three times the speed of sound and at high altitude.
The supersonic spy drone would make China’s military capable of targeting American warships around Taiwan and military bases in the region.
The documents feature satellite imagery of two of the high-tech drones. They are capable of gathering real-time mapping data of potential target and carry out missile strikes in any future conflict.
According to the documents, the drone could be released and reach a height of 100,000 feet above Taiwan or South Korea.
The Pentagon has not commented on this latest leak of intel or confirmed its validity.
This leak comes as China’s spying capabilities are a focus of congressional committees after a Chinese spy balloon was found hovering over U.S. airspace. The balloon was found to have collected data from U.S. military sites.
