Leaked documents from the Pentagon has been a big story and continues to provide bombshells from inside the U.S. government. Some of the classified material dropped online has been proven to be faulty, but officials are now confirming that other intel is true.
Amongst the credible intel is a report that U.S. forces are present in Ukraine, despite the U.S. government previously saying no U.S. troops were in the country. The Biden administration confirmed that U.S. special forces are indeed in the country, but added that those special forces are in the U.S. Embassy.
It’s not only the U.S. with special forces on the ground in Ukraine. The U.K. also has members in the country, according to the leaked documents. That is something the U.K. has also previously denied.
The U.K. Ministry of Defense has not commented on the new report, but has previously said that the leaked classified information has a “serious level of inaccuracy.”
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says there is a small number of U.S. troops in the country, and he confirmed the troops are not fighting on the battlefield, but stationed at the embassy.
It’s the latest big headline to come from the leaked classified material. The material has been considered the biggest government leak in years. The leak has created a frenzy from within the U.S. government, and put its allies on notice.
Kirby says the president stands by his mandate that there will be no American troops fighting in the war in Ukraine.
