Satellite images show North Korea is increasing its supply of arms to Russia. Russia’s war with Ukraine is now approaching the three-year mark.
According to The Wall Street Journal, North Korea is expanding its arms production and then shipping them to Russia. The article states millions of artillery shells have allowed Russia to fill the void of ammunition, depleted from nearly three years of war with Ukraine.
Russia is now using North Korean rockets to bombard Ukrainian cities. Ukraine Army Officer Andriy Kovalenko says 60% of artillery and mortar shells used by Russia now come from Pyongyang.
That information is backed up by American officials, who told the Journal that North Korea has shipped 20,000 containers of munitions to Russia. They range from 122mm and 152mm shells to a new class of ballistic missiles.
In addition, North Korea has also provided approximately 12,000 soldiers. That influx of manpower is now on the ground, engaged in active combat for Russia against Ukraine.
President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to end the war between Russia and Ukraine when he takes office in January. He reiterated that point in a media briefing at Mar-a-Lago last week. Trump says there must be a deal to end the war because too many people have been killed.
In exchange for its military muscle, North Korea is receiving cash and oil from Russia, signifying a deepening alliance between the two communist nations.
