According to a new Washington Post report, Virginia ‘Ginni’ Thomas, the wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, urged then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. 29 text messages between Meadows and Ginni Thomas are part of correspondence Meadows turned over to the Jan. 6 Select Committee.
“The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History,” the Washington Post reported Ginni Thomas texted Meadows.
Now, legal experts are raising questions about a conflict of interest when it comes to Justice Thomas’ seat on the bench.
“This feels like a deeply unethical decision by Justice Thomas not to recuse himself from making anything to do with making decisions about the insurrection,” legal analyst Glenn Kirschner told MSNBC.
Thomas was the only Justice to try to block the National Archives from releasing White House documents requested by the Jan. 6 Select Committee. His wife’s texts to Meadows were among those requested.
Clarence Thomas was discharged from the hospital a week after he was admitted with an infection, a court spokeswoman said.
