A powerful storm wreaked havoc along the Eastern Seaboard, unleashing heavy rain, flooding, road washouts, and strong winds. The aftermath left cities and hundreds of thousands of people in New England without power. The storm also resulted in at least five fatalities.

The National Weather Service sounded the alarm with dangerous rainfall warnings for New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, and extensive areas of Maine as the storm advanced into Canada.
Extreme wind gusts hit Boston at 68 mph, causing a tree to fall on a trailer in Hingham, Massachusetts, killing an 89-year-old man.
Additional fatalities occurred in Maine, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina due to falling trees, flash floods, and vehicle accidents. The impact extended to power outages affecting over 400,000 residents in Maine and surpassing half a million in Rhode Island, with recovery efforts hampered by relentless winds.

Airport operations, including Boston Logan International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, witnessed flight cancellations and delays, causing disruptions to travel plans.
The storm’s effects are anticipated to persist across the Northeast and into Canada, while the Pacific Northwest and parts of California brace for potential moderate to heavy rain and flash flooding.
