WNBA star Angel Reese confirms Reese’s collab after fans’ request

Full story

It’s a sweet deal that basketball fans have been craving: The chocolate and peanut butter brand Reese’s has partnered with WNBA star Angel Reese for a merchandise collaboration. So how did this partnership come about? Social media, of course.

It all began when Angel Reese posted “Reese’s Pieces, where ya’ll at?” on X to her over half a million followers after a Chicago Sky victory in June. Her fans, who call themselves “Reese’s Pieces” took no time to make sure their “queen” knew they were there for her.

The fans began sending comment after comment to the Reese’s Pieces account, calling on the company to acknowledge them and their hero.

Reese’s Pieces responded a few days later with a post of its own saying, “Where are we? Just following our favorite player.” It was accompanied by an image of one of the candies wearing an Angel Reese-like headband.

Soon after, Angel Reese sported custom Reeboks painted in Reese’s colors. Then came the reports of an official collab between the player and the brand.

It became official on Wednesday, Aug. 21, when Angel Reese shared a video showing some of the recent comments from her Reese’s Pieces fanbase calling for a partnership with the candy — and then revealing the first drop.

That first wave includes sweatshirts, hats and t-shirts with the iconic Reese’s logo and Angel’s name spelled out in Reese’s Pieces candies. Two more batches will be released at a later time, including a jersey and apparel featuring the Reese’s Cups logo.

“The fans really made this happen,” Angel Reese said in a statement. “This collection is for my ‘Reese’s Pieces’ — who’ve been with me every step of the way and the design elements bring together things that I love: basketball, style, and of course, Reese’s!”

The 22-year-old WNBA rookie, known as the Bayou Barbie, has not only been scoring big on the basketball court, where she’s averaging 13.6 points and 12.3 rebounds a game, but also off the court.

Angel Reese’s net worth is reportedly just under $2 million. She has been making deal after deal since her LSU days, with nearly a dozen companies like Reebok, Xfinity and Wingstop.

And she’s not done yet making news this week. On Friday, Aug. 23, Angle Reese is set to release her first official sneaker collab with Reebok.
